Durgheshvery Restaurant

Setting up a restaurant near the Unity Petrol Pump was mostly because of all the cars passing by on N H No: 8. People are always traveling through Makarpura and they get hungry at odd hours. We stay open late because of that. It’s not a quiet place, you can always hear the trucks and the horns from the highway while you're eating. The building is just a regular spot in Vadodara, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have enough tables for families or truck drivers who just want to sit down for a bit. Jamva Bay Pass can get real dusty, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the chairs and the counters. The kitchen is always moving, especially during dinner time when everyone seems to arrive at once. We cook what people expect in a place like this, mostly heavy meals that fill you up for the road. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to mess with the generator, but that’s just part of running a business here. We have a few guys working the tables who have been here since we opened. They know how to handle the rush. It’s not a fancy job, but it keeps us busy and the regulars seem to like that they can always find us here by the petrol pump. We just keep doing what we do every day. It is a practical life for us.
