Kishanakta Producer Company Limited

We are just a bunch of folks here in Dubanochi village. You can find us over at Rajendera Kr Singh and Laxmi Singh’s place in the Kathkuan part of the panchayat. It’s pretty quiet out here, mostly just fields and people working them. Kishanakta Producer Company Limited was started because we all realized that doing things on our own was getting harder every year. The seeds cost more, the weather doesn't always play nice, and trying to sell what we grow is a whole other headache. So we figured, why not group up? We sit around and talk about what we’re planting, maybe try to share some tools if someone’s got something the rest of us don’t have yet. It’s not fancy. There’s no big office or anything, just us meeting up and trying to figure out how to keep our farms going. Sometimes we talk about the crops for hours while sitting near the road. It’s mostly about making sure we don’t lose out when it’s time to take stuff to the market. We know the land here in Doobanochi pretty well. It’s our life, really. My uncle used to say that the soil here has its own temper, and he wasn't wrong. We just want to work together so everyone gets a fair shake. It’s a lot of hard work, but being together makes it feel a bit more manageable. We’re just local people trying to get by.
