Honnavar Farmers Producer Company Limited is situated in Jamanakodlu, over in Honavar. This is part of the Uttara Kannada district, right near the coast. The weather is usually humid and you can smell the salt in the air sometimes. We are a group of locals who decided to start this company to help with the farming around here. Our office is a plain spot in the village where we gather to sort out the business. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We often have farmers dropping in just to chat or check on things. We deal with whatever is being grown in the local fields. It’s a lot of organizing and trying to get the best for everyone without making things too complicated. We don't have a fancy website or big marketing plans. We just rely on knowing our neighbors and working hard. The work can be tiring, especially during the monsoon when everything gets soaked. But we stay open and keep things moving. Most of us have been in Honavar our whole lives. We understand how the local market works and we just try to be a reliable place for the farmers to come. It’s a straightforward, no-nonsense kind of place. We just do our work and go home to our families in the evening. That is how life is here and we are fine with it.
