If you’re walking down Gali No 7 in Ujjain, you’ll find us at number 91. We are really close to the Mahakal Temple, which is why we get so many visitors from all over the country. A lot of pilgrims come in after their darshan, looking for a place to sit down and rest for a bit. We keep things simple because that’s what people want when they are traveling. The restaurant is located in a narrow street, so it has that old Ujjain feeling to it. It’s not a quiet place, especially during festivals or special days at the temple, but we like the energy. I’ve lived in this city my whole life, and running a restaurant near the temple feels right. We don't have a fancy waitstaff or a glossy menu. It’s just a basic setup where you can get a meal. We start early in the morning because the temple crowds are out at sunrise. The kitchen stays busy all day long. We see a lot of families and groups of friends. Sometimes it’s crowded and noisy, but it’s a friendly kind of noise. We just want to make sure anyone who walks into our place in Gali No 7 leaves with a full stomach. It’s a small operation, but we put a lot of hours into it to keep things running smoothly for the visitors.
