Hotel Monalisa

Hotel Monalisa is at 104 Bhatiyani Chohata, which is near the Laxmi Temple. This is in the old part of Udaipur where the streets are very narrow and winding. You can’t really drive a big car up to the door. We are surrounded by other old buildings and temples. You can hear the temple bells in the morning and evening. The building has that old city charm, with thick walls and small windows. We have a few rooms that are all different shapes because of how the house was built over time. It’s a family-run place. We don’t have a big reception desk, just a small table where we keep the guest book. Most people come here because they want to be close to the temple or the lake area. We spend a lot of time giving directions because the lanes around 313001 can be confusing for newcomers. We don't have a lot of modern amenities, but the rooms are comfortable enough for a few days. We do the cooking ourselves if guests want a simple breakfast. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except during festival times when the streets are packed. We’ve been at 104 Bhatiyani Chohata for years and we know all the neighbors. It’s just a home that we turned into a place for travelers to stay while they visit.
