Hotel Lakend

Our place is right on the edge of Fatehsagar Lake in the Alkapuri area of Udaipur. Being so close to the water is a big part of our daily life. You can see the lake from all over the property, and the view changes depending on the time of day. Udaipur is a busy city with tourists everywhere, but Alkapuri feels a little more tucked away from the main noise. We spend a lot of time managing the outdoor spaces because that is where everyone wants to be sitting. Running a hotel here means being ready for anything, especially on the weekends when it gets really crowded with visitors. The staff is always moving, whether it is helping with luggage or setting up for an event by the water. We don't have a polished corporate handbook to follow. We just talk to each other and get the work done. The sun can be quite strong off the lake, so we are always checking the umbrellas and the seating areas outside. It is a beautiful spot, but it is also a lot of hard work to keep it looking good for everyone who walks in. We deal with the usual stuff like plumbing issues or busy check-out times, just like any other place. We aren't trying to be the most modern hotel in the world. We just like being here by the lake and serving the people who come to visit our city.
