Gateway Restaurant

Gateway Restaurant is located at Shop Number 2 in the Udaipur HO area. We are right outside the City Palace, near the agat Siromani Temple. It’s a very old and famous part of Udaipur. There are always a lot of people walking around, both locals and people visiting the palace. We’ve been here for a while, just serving food to whoever walks in. It’s a small shop but it keeps us very busy. You can see the temple from nearby, which is nice. We don’t have a big menu with fancy names. We just make what we know how to make. The city of Udaipur is beautiful, but for us, it’s just where we work every day. We start early to get the kitchen ready. Being near the City Palace means there is always something going on outside our door. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with all the tourists, but that’s just how it is. We aren't trying to be a five-star place. We are just a local restaurant where you can get a meal. The address is easy to find because everyone knows where the City Palace is. We just focus on our cooking and making sure the floor is clean. It’s a lot of work, but we are used to it by now. We’ve seen the area change a bit over the years, but we’re still here at Shop Number 2 doing what we do.
