Down here in the Madri industrial area, things are always moving. Our place is at E 103-104 on Road No. 1C, and if you know this part of Udaipur, you know it gets pretty dusty and loud with all the factories around. We make electrical contacts here. It’s a lot of metal work and machine noise throughout the day. The floor is usually covered in bits of copper and other materials we use for the parts. It is not a shiny office by any means. It’s a workshop where people are actually making things with their hands and the equipment. We have some heavy machinery that’s been with us for years, and it needs a lot of looking after to keep it running right. Most of the staff live nearby and have been coming here every morning for a long time. We start early before it gets too hot, though it still gets quite warm inside once the machines are all going. There is usually a bit of a scramble when a big order comes in, but we have a rhythm for how we handle it. We don't spend much time on fancy letters or big speeches. We just focus on the parts we’re making and getting them loaded onto the trucks. It's honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. It is just a matter of getting the metal shaped and the orders out the door.
