Stonehill International School

Our school is located out at 335, Tarahunise Post in Jala Hobli. It is quite a bit of a distance from the main city, which actually makes it a lot quieter out here. We have a lot of space and trees around the campus. It doesn't feel like being in Bangalore at all. The air is a bit fresher and there isn't as much noise from buses or horns. We have several buildings spread out over the land, so we do a lot of walking back and forth every day. The morning commute for the staff can be long if they live in the city, but once you get here, it is a nice change of pace. We have students who live here on the grounds and others who come in on buses from different parts of the area. Maintenance takes up a lot of our time because there is so much grass to cut and so many buildings to look after. We have a canteen that serves meals to everyone, and that is usually where people catch up on news. It isn't a corporate environment. It is more like a small village where everyone knows each other. We don't bother with fancy slogans. We just focus on keeping the school running and making sure the facilities are ready for the day. It gets very dark and quiet at night once the sun goes down. Most of us just enjoy the peace of being away from the city.
