Gem International Residential School

Gem International Residential School is located out in Gauribidanur, which is part of the Kolar district. Since it is a residential school, the kids stay here overnight for most of the year. This means the place never really stays silent. Even late in the evening, you can hear some noise from the dorms or the kitchen staff getting things ready for the next morning's breakfast. The campus is quite large because we need space for the housing and the classrooms. It is a bit out of the way from the main city traffic, which is nice because it stays relatively calm during the study hours. The teachers here often live on-site too, so they are always around if a student needs something fixed or has a question about their homework. It is a lot of work keeping a place like this running, between the cleaning, the cooking, and the actual teaching part. We have a lot of kids from different parts of the region who come here to live and learn together. The rooms are basic but they do the job. During the holidays, the place gets really quiet when everyone goes home to their families, and that is when we do most of the repairs on the walls and the furniture. It is just a regular life here, focused on getting through the school year and making sure the students have what they need for their daily routines.
