Out here at 176/2 in Gulur Amene Kere, things are a bit quieter than the main city parts of Tumkur. Podar International School Gulur is situated right in that area, surrounded by a bit more space. It’s a big building, and we spend a good chunk of our time just walking from one end to the other. The morning commute for most of us involves seeing the local fields and the open sky. It’s a different vibe than a city school. We have a lot of rooms to keep track of and the playground always needs a bit of looking after. The kids bring a lot of energy with them every day. We see them getting off the buses and heading into the classrooms. It isn't always perfect; sometimes the internet is slow or a classroom light needs replacing. That’s just life in a school. We focus on the basic stuff like making sure there are enough chalks and that the benches are in good shape. Gulur is a growing place, and we’re just part of that growth. Most of the staff live nearby in Tumkur. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just providing a place for the local kids to spend their day and learn something. It gets dusty sometimes, but that’s just the nature of the location near the Amene Kere area.
