Arvind International Residential School

Arvind International Residential School is located at the Girigowdanapalya Gate, right on the road that connects Kunigal and Maddur. Since we’re a residential school, there’s a different kind of feel to the place compared to a day school. Someone is always here, day or night. The Kunigal-Maddur Road can get some heavy trucks and buses passing through, but once you step inside the gates at Girigowdanapalya, it feels a bit more contained and quiet. We’ve got a fairly large area to look after, so there’s always something that needs attention, like the grounds or the living quarters. We don't have a professional writer to handle our information, so this is just us explaining where we are. It’s a bit of a drive to get to the nearest big town, so we rely a lot on what we have here on site. The staff lives and works together in a way that’s pretty informal and close-knit. You’ll see us in the dining hall or walking near the gate most days. We don't use any fancy mission statements or corporate buzzwords. We just focus on the logistics of housing and teaching everyone who stays here. The weather out here in Kunigal can be quite dry, and the wind blows a lot of dust across the road. We spend a good amount of time just keeping the place tidy. It’s a busy life, but it’s a simple one, centered right here at the gate on the highway.
