Out here in Deoli, the stone business is what everyone knows. We are located at F-137 in the Riico Industrial Area. You can't really miss it because there is usually quite a bit of stone stacked up outside. The air always has that faint smell of wet rock and dust from the cutting. It’s a rugged place to work, but we like it that way. We don't have a big reception area or a receptionist in a suit. Mostly, you’ll just find a couple of us in the back checking the inventory or talking to the drivers. The sun beats down on the yard quite a bit, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning before it gets too intense. People stop by to look at the different slabs, and we just show them what’s available on the floor. There is no big sales pitch here. We just know our stones and where they come from. The machines are loud, and the work is heavy, so everyone stays pretty focused. Most of our guys have been doing this since they were young, so they can tell a good piece of stone just by looking at it for a second. It's a straightforward way to make a living. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and the neighbors at the other units in Riico are all good people doing the same kind of hard work.
