We are based at Aavin Illam in the Madhavaram Milk Colony. This place has been around for a long time and it has a very specific feel to it. It’s almost like its own little village because so many people are involved in the milk business around here. The building is big and it can be a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. We have lots of different departments all under one roof. There are milk tankers coming in and out at all hours of the day. You can always smell the dairy in the air. We sit in offices that have high ceilings and old wooden desks that have probably been here for decades. It isn't a modern glass building; it feels more like a piece of history. There are a lot of papers to sign and files to keep track of because we work with so many different producers. We usually have our tea in the canteen where everyone gathers to talk about the day's work. It’s a very social place in that way. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just handle the milk and make sure the distribution is happening the way it should. The trees around the colony give some nice shade, which is great during the hotter months. It is a steady job with a lot of tradition behind it. We just keep the routine going like it has been for years.
