Down at D-7 in the Ambattur Industrial Estate, things get moving way before the sun is even up. Being in the South Phase means we are surrounded by all sorts of factories, but our spot is usually the one with the most activity in the small hours of the morning. Tamilnadu Dairy Foods isn't a massive corporate setup; it’s more of a practical operation where everyone knows their job. The floors are always wet because we are constantly washing down the equipment and the tiled walls. You can hear the hum of the cooling units from the street if the traffic is quiet enough. We spend the day handling crates and checking the temperature gauges on the tanks. It is honest work that leaves you tired at the end of the shift. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in our boots, making sure the milk is being handled right. We get our supplies in, process what needs to be done, and get it out the door as fast as possible. There is no time for sitting around and talking about big plans. We just focus on what is right in front of us. Some days are harder than others, especially when the heat picks up in the afternoon, but the machines keep running and we keep moving. It’s just how life goes here in the industrial estate.
