You can find Mmm Traders Exports & Imports at No. 22-A on the first floor. We’re in the T.S.R. Nagar Extension area of Thiruvottiyur, right on 3rd Avenue. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially if we’re carrying samples or heavy documents. Thiruvottiyur is an interesting part of town, very busy and close to the port areas, which is good for an export-import business. Our office isn’t anything special to look at. It’s just a few desks pushed together and a lot of shelves filled with folders and shipping documents. Most of our time is spent on the phone or on the computer, tracking where containers are or talking to customs agents. It can get quite stressful when a shipment is delayed, but that’s just the nature of trading. We have a small balcony where we can see the street below, and it’s usually packed with scooters and delivery vans. The heat in Chennai can be tough, so we have a couple of fans going full blast all day. We aren't a large corporation; it’s just a handful of us trying to keep things moving. We drink a lot of coffee and try to stay on top of the paperwork. Sometimes the internet goes down and we all have to wait around, but usually, we’re just busy trying to make sure the numbers on the invoices match the goods in the crates.
