Kangeyan Coconut Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our address is 1E/ 9-82 in Thalinjikaattuvalasu, which is over by Vattamalai in the Kangayam area. This is coconut country so it made sense for us to get together as a producer company to help each other out. We have been working out of this office for a bit now and it’s become a bit of a hub for the local growers. The building is simple and we keep it that way because we’d rather spend the money on the farms than on fancy furniture. You can hear the wind through the palms most days which is a nice sound to work to. We deal with a lot of different farmers who bring in their concerns about pests or the price of copra. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of tea drinking while we figure things out. Sometimes the meetings get a bit loud when everyone is trying to talk at once but we usually reach an agreement in the end. Being in Kangayam means we are part of a long tradition of coconut farming and we try to respect that while also trying to be more organized with our business. The paperwork can be a headache sometimes especially when the government forms change but we manage to get through it together. It’s just us, the trees, and the local folks trying to make a living in Thalinjikaattuvalasu. We don't need much else besides some rain and good soil to keep the Kangeyan coconut business moving along.
