Mk Poultry Farms

Our place is over at the Raja Complex in Koduvai. Running a poultry farm means our days start pretty early, usually before the sun is even up properly. There is always something to check on. Whether it's the feed or the water lines, you can't really take a day off in this business. The birds need attention all the time. It is dusty work and definitely not glamorous. We’ve been at this location for a bit now, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the farm. Sometimes things break down and we have to fix them on the fly. It's just me and a couple of others keeping things running. We don't have a big corporate setup. It's just a regular farm. We spend a lot of time monitoring the health of the flock. In Koduvai, everyone kind of knows each other, so we see the same faces often. We aren't trying to be the biggest around, just trying to do a decent job every day. The smells are something you get used to after a week or two. It’s hard work, and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift. But we like the routine of it. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily chores as they come. It is a simple life and it keeps us occupied. We try to keep the place as clean as we can, though it's a constant struggle with so many birds.
