Mowshika Coconut

We are out here at Kullan Kattu Thottam, working with coconuts mostly. The farm is in Pullakkalipalayam, which is right near Nilali Post. It is a quiet area for the most part. We spend most of our mornings in the groves. Coconuts are a lot of work, even if people think they just grow on trees and that is it. We have to watch the water and the pests constantly. Koduvai is the main town nearby where we get our supplies. We've lived on this land for a long time now. The trees are tall and some of them are quite old. We do the harvesting when it's time and stack them up in piles. It is a family thing, really. My uncle used to do this before us. We don't have a big fancy website or anything like that. People just know Mowshika Coconut is here. Sometimes the trucks come in late to pick up the loads and we have to wait. It gets tiring when the sun is out, but that is just part of it. We keep our tools in the shed and try to stay organized. There is always grass to cut and trees to check. It is honest work. If you follow the road past the post office, you will see our place. We just stick to what we know. The soil here is good for the trees. We don't try to be anything we aren't.
