We're based out of No.5/19A in Rangasamuthiram, which is part of the Mettupalayampoolavadi area near Udumalaipettai. Gudimangalam Farmers Producer Company Limited is a mouthful, but it’s who we are. It’s a rural area where everyone knows their neighbor's fields. We aren't a big city company. We’re just a bunch of local growers who put our resources together. Our office is a simple room where we keep our records and meet to talk about the harvest. It’s often quite hot, and we usually have the fans going full blast. Most of us are more comfortable out in the fields than in these four walls. We deal with the day-to-day problems of farming, like water issues or pests. There’s no fancy talk here, just plain English and local speech. We try to keep our costs low and our work honest. The roads around here can be a bit rough, but we’re used to it. We aren't looking to become some huge corporation. We just want to make sure the farmers in our area get a fair shake. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours. Sometimes we disagree on how to do things, but we always figure it out. It’s just how things go when you’re working with people you’ve known your whole life. We're just here doing our part in Udumalaipettai. We often have tea together before we start the real work. It’s a chance to catch up on family news before the sun gets high.
