Arthaa Ecological Farming Privatelimited

Our place is out at Sf.No.1028/1 B, Natthakattu Thottamn.Koundampalayam. It’s in the Nilali area of Kangeyam. We call ourselves Arthaa Ecological Farming. It’s basically just a farm where we try to do things the right way. We don’t use a lot of big machinery. A lot of the work is done by hand or with simple tools. Kangeyam is a place where people know their cattle and their land, and we fit right into that. We aren't into those big industrial farming methods. We like to see the bugs and the birds in the fields. It means the ecosystem is working. Sometimes the weeds get ahead of us, and it looks a bit messy, but that’s fine. It’s a real farm, not a showcase. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. Most of our time is spent out in the dirt. It’s hot work, and your back usually hurts by the end of the day. We grow a bit of everything depending on the season. It’s not always profitable, and some years are tougher than others when the rain doesn't show up. We just keep going because we like being outside and seeing things grow. If you come by Nilali, you’ll see we’re just regular people trying to farm in a way that doesn’t hurt the earth. It is a slow life, but it has its moments.
