Started on VOC Street a long time ago. Tirunelveli Town is where we call home. Catering for various events is what we do, mostly weddings and family gatherings. It’s not a big fancy company with offices; we just work out of our place at 51 D. Every morning starts with the smell of spices. My team and I gather early to prep the vegetables and get the fires going. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months. Heavy pots and traditional ways of cooking are our main tools. People know us by word of mouth. Someone eats our food at a wedding and then they call us for their daughter's function. That’s how it usually goes. We don't have a website or do any advertising. The focus is always on the taste. The street outside is busy with traffic and people walking to the temple. Sometimes it’s hard to load the trucks because of the narrow road. We manage it though. It’s just a daily routine of buying groceries, cleaning the vessels, and making sure the food reaches the venue on time. There are many contractors in town, but we just do our own thing here. It’s tiring work but we’ve been doing it for years now. We know the local tastes well. If you come by the shop, you'll probably see us busy with some large order.
