You can find us at number 46 and 47 in Amutha Beet Nagar, which is right off Nethaji Road in Melapalayam. It is a lively area of Tirunelveli with lots of small shops and houses nearby. Our school is for the younger kids, so it is usually a very loud place during the day. The classrooms are small but we try to keep them tidy for the little ones. We have posters on the walls and small chairs for the nursery students. In the mornings, parents drop off their children at the gate, and there’s always a bit of a rush with scooters and pedestrians. The smell of lunch boxes starts to fill the air around noon. We have a small courtyard where the kids can run around for a bit, but it’s not very large. The teachers spend a lot of time helping the kids with their writing and reading. It’s a very local school, and most of the families live within walking distance. The building itself is older, and the paint is a bit faded in some spots. We don’t have fancy computers or a big library, just the basics that the children need. Every afternoon, the street gets busy again when it is time for everyone to head home. It is a simple, hardworking environment where the focus is just on the daily needs of the primary school students.
