The Hair Cut

The Hair Cut is the name of our shop on Vayalur Road in Trichy. We are located at Shop No.2 in the Somarasampettai area, which is near the Temple Inn. I have been working as a barber in this neighborhood for many years. It is a simple one-room shop with a couple of chairs and big mirrors on the walls. I like this part of town because it is a bit quieter compared to the main city center. We do basic haircuts, shaves, and the occasional head massage. A lot of the local men come in on Sundays to get cleaned up before they go back to work on Monday. We have a small TV in the corner that is usually showing the news or a cricket match if one is playing. I keep the shop open from early in the morning until late at night. My nephew helps me out on the weekends when it gets busy with students and workers. We do not have any fancy stuff like those expensive salons you see in the malls. It is just basic chairs and standard tools that get the job done. We keep our scissors sharp and the floor swept. The Trichy heat can be a bit much, so the ceiling fan stays on all day.
