Maintenance In Charge

I’m Manoj and I run things from Kizhakoot House in Annakara. I’ve been the Maintenance In Charge for quite a few years now. Basically, if something breaks or needs looking after in this area of Puvathor, people usually find their way to me. My setup isn’t anything fancy; it’s mostly my tools, a lot of spare parts, and my phone which never seems to stop ringing. I deal with all sorts of repairs and upkeep. Some days I’m out in the heat fixing a gate or checking on a building, and other days I’m just at my desk trying to figure out which supplies we need to order from Thrissur. It’s hard work and your hands are always dirty, but it feels good to get things back in working order. I don't really do much advertising. People in Annakara know the house and they know they can come by if they have a problem with their property. I keep a log of everything that needs doing so nothing gets forgotten, though sometimes I fall behind when there’s a big storm or something unexpected happens. It is just a local service, keeping the neighborhood running as best as I can. I’ve lived here a long time and I don't plan on going anywhere. If it needs fixing, I’m usually the one who gets the call to come out and take a look at it. It’s honest labor.
