Bar Suprvisor

My name is Basil and I work out of my house, Vazhakkoottathil, over in Kara. It’s a small place near Kodungalur in the Trichur district. Being a Bar Suprvisor isn't just a job title for me; it's what I do every day to make a living. The area here in Kerala is pretty quiet, mostly just houses and small shops. I don’t have a fancy office building with a sign out front. Most people just know where I live and they come by if they need to talk. The house is a typical one for this part of the world, with a porch where I sit and go through my notes. It’s often humid, and the trees around the house give some shade but not enough to stop the heat. I spend a lot of time traveling between here and the different spots I have to look after. It’s a lot of checking stock and making sure everything is running the way it should be. I’m not a big company with a mission statement. I’m just a guy working in the hospitality trade. Sometimes the work is late at night and other times I’m up early dealing with deliveries. It’s a bit of a messy schedule, but it’s my life. Trichur is a good place to be based, and Kara is home. People around here know me as the guy who’s always on his bike heading to the next shift. It’s hard work, but it pays the bills and keeps me busy. I enjoy the quiet of the evenings.
