Kudumbamithra Women Fed Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Thiruvananthapuram, at a place called Souparnika with the address Tc/76/174/1. We are a federation of women farmers, and as you can imagine, there is always a lot of talking and activity whenever we get together. Being in the capital city means things are always moving fast, but our focus is strictly on the farming side of things. We started this because we wanted a way for the women in our community to have their own space to manage their agricultural work. It's not always easy balancing home life and the farm, but we manage it somehow. The Souparnika building is where we keep our records and hold our meetings. It's a modest place, nothing like the big government offices you see downtown. We don't really have a boss in the traditional sense; we just work together and decide things as a group. Sometimes we disagree on how to handle a batch of crops or where to sell them, but we always figure it out over tea. We don't use any fancy language to describe ourselves. We are just a bunch of hardworking women from Thiruvananthapuram trying to make a living from the land. It’s tough work, especially when the weather isn't helping, but we’ve been doing this for a long time and we aren't stopping now.
