Green India Exports

We set up shop at 90 Palghat Road a long time ago. It is a straight shot down the main road, and you can’t really miss the building. Green India Exports is what we do, which mostly means we spend our time checking bags of produce and making sure the trucks are loaded correctly. It’s a lot of manual work and the warehouse gets quite warm in the afternoons. I usually have my desk near the front so I can see who is coming and going. We don’t have any fancy corporate offices with glass walls. It’s mostly just concrete floors and stacks of goods waiting to be shipped out. My cousins help me with the heavy lifting and the paperwork. We use a lot of local guys from around Palghat Road when things get really busy. The neighborhood is mostly other businesses and small shops, so we all know each other. Sometimes the rain comes down so hard we have to stop loading and just wait it out under the awning. We don't have a big mission statement or anything. We just want to get the products from the farmers to the people who need them across the borders. It’s a simple cycle. We wake up early, drink some tea, and get to work at number 90. Most days we are there until it gets dark. It is just how we live and work in this part of town.
