We are located at Pathikulangara House in the Ollukkara area of Thrissur. Our spot is specifically in Kalathode. We run Damac Hotels & Holidays from here. It is a local operation where we spend our time managing holiday bookings and looking into hotel options for people. The house is a typical one for this part of Kerala, and we’ve converted part of it into our working space. There are files everywhere and a couple of computers that we use all day long. We don't have a marketing department or a polished sales pitch. If someone wants a room or a trip, we just look up what is available and tell them the price. It is very informal. You might hear the sounds of the neighborhood while we are on the phone. We like being in Kalathode because it is easy for us to get to and our neighbors are friendly. Most of our work comes from word of mouth. Someone uses us and then tells their cousin or a friend. We don't spend money on big billboards. It is just about sitting down and getting the work done. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the office. Other days, everyone seems to want to go on a trip at the same time. We just take it as it comes and try to stay organized.
