Athirappilly Tribal Valley Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are located in Chicklai, over in the Vettilappara area of Athirappilly. It’s a beautiful part of the country, though that’s not why we are here. We work with the tribal farmers in the valley, helping them organize their produce so they can get a fair deal. The office is just a simple building where we meet and talk. We don't use a lot of fancy technology. Most of our work is done face-to-face or over the phone. Being in Athirappilly means we are surrounded by forest and hills, which affects how we do business. Transport can be a bit tricky when the rains are heavy, but we’ve learned to plan around it. We represent a lot of different growers from the valley. Everyone has their own way of doing things, and we try to bring it all together under one name. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We are more like a community hub. You might find some of us out in the fields one day and sitting at a desk the next. We do whatever is needed to help the group. It’s about supporting the people who have lived and worked on this land for a long time. We just provide the structure to make sure their hard work doesn’t go to waste. It's a way of life here more than anything else for the people in the valley.
