We are Arpana Farmer Producer Company, located right near the Vellanchira School in Aloor. If you know the Mukundapuram area in Thrissur, you’ve probably passed our place at 21/180-F. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits. We are just local farmers who wanted to do something together. Farming on your own is getting tougher with all the costs going up, so we figured we’d be better off as a group. We spend our days dealing with the land and the crops that grow around here. It’s a lot of sweating and worrying about the weather, to be honest. We aren't here to give you a sales pitch. We just produce what we can and try to get a fair price for it. Sometimes the harvest is great, and sometimes we just have to make do. We’ve got a small office where we handle the paperwork, which is the part most of us don’t really like. We’d rather be outside. But it has to be done to keep the company running. Most of the people involved have lived in Aloor their whole lives. We know the soil and we know each other. It’s a simple, local operation run by people who actually do the work. No more, no less. It is just the way we have always done things in this village, looking after the fields and our neighbors.
