Uday Samudra Beach Hotel

We are down at Samudra Beach on G.V. Raja Road. Uday Samudra Beach Hotel is just where we work every day. Kovalam is a nice place but it keeps us very busy. We have the rooms and the beach is right there. It takes a lot of effort to keep the sand out of the lobby. We spend most of our mornings checking the supplies and making sure everything is ready for whoever shows up. It is a coastal spot so things get salty fast. We have to paint often. The staff mostly comes from the villages nearby. We aren't a corporate chain or anything like that. Just a hotel by the water. People come here to stay and we try to make sure they have what they need. Sometimes the weather gets rough but the building is sturdy. We’ve seen a lot of tourists and locals pass through over the years. We keep the kitchen running and the beds made. It’s honest work. The G.V. Raja Road can get a bit noisy with the taxis but once you get inside it’s alright. We just focus on the daily tasks. We don't have a big PR team. It's just the manager and the crew here making sure the place stays open. We spend time fixing the pipes and the lights like any other building. It is just how things go around here.
