Being so close to the ocean means we deal with a lot of salt in the air, which keeps us busy with maintenance. The Muscot Hotel has been a part of this area for a long time. It’s not one of those new, shiny hotels that look the same everywhere. Our place has its own quirks. The rooms are simple, and the hallways have seen a lot of people walk through them over the years. We spend our mornings getting things ready for the day, usually starting with the floors and the breakfast area. The staff here is mostly local folks who know the beach like the back of their hands. We don't have a big fancy website with professional photos. What you see when you walk in is just how it is. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy, and the paint might need a touch-up here and there, but it’s clean. We like the sound of the waves at night. It’s a steady kind of work, looking after guests and making sure the kitchen has what it needs. We don’t try to be something we’re not. We are just a hotel by the beach in Kerala, doing our daily tasks and helping people find their way around. It is a lot of simple, hard work, but we are used to it by now.
