Thenmala Ecotourism Promotion Society

Our office for the Thenmala Ecotourism Promotion Society is actually tucked away in Karimanal, Kulathoor. It’s located at Sreejith Ms, Kadukkayil Veedu. It’s a pretty simple setup in a residential area. We don't have a big glass front or a neon sign. It’s just a house where we handle all the tourism work. The desks are covered in folders and brochures about the woods and the hills. We spend a lot of time on the phone explaining how to get to the dam or where the best trails are. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow and we have to wait for pages to load. We drink our tea in the small yard out back when it isn't raining. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, except for the occasional dog barking. We’ve been working out of this Thiruvananthapuram spot for a while now. Our goal is just to get people to see the nature side of things. It’s a lot of coordination with different departments. Sometimes we lose a pen or two under the stacks of paper. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s just us doing the daily grind. The pin code is 695583 and we are usually here from morning until the sun goes down. We handle the bookings and the queries as they come. It’s basic, hard work but we enjoy the talk about the outdoors and the local environment.
