Taj Green Cove, Kovalam, Trivandrum, Kerala

Our place is located out on G.V. Vattapada Road in Kovalam, which is a bit of a drive from the main city of Trivandrum. Taj Green Cove sits right where the greenery meets the water. It’s a big property with lots of trees and pathways that we have to keep clean every single day. Working here means you spend a lot of time outdoors, even when the humidity is high. We see a lot of people coming through, some just for the weekend and others staying longer to see the sights in Kerala. The road leading up to us can be a bit narrow, but it’s a nice walk if you like the ocean breeze. We have several buildings scattered around the grounds rather than one big block. It keeps things feeling more spread out and less crowded. The staff mostly comes from the nearby villages, so there is a lot of local talk in the breakroom. We keep the gardens trimmed and the rooms ready, but things aren't always perfect. Sometimes a storm comes through and we are all out there picking up branches and clearing the drains. It is a busy life here, especially during the tourist months when everyone wants to be by the sea. We just go about our business, making sure the lights are on and the paths are clear for whoever shows up at our gate on Vattapada Road.
