Sree Mookambika Vidyalaya

Sree Mookambika Vidyalaya is located at Mukkolakkal Junction in Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram. Being right at a junction means there is always something going on outside the school. The sound of buses and horns is just part of the background here. It’s a well-known spot in the neighborhood, and many families have been sending their kids here for years. The building is an older style, typical of this part of Kerala, with high ceilings and tiled roofs in some parts. It stays relatively cool, though the humidity in Trivandrum is always there. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or high-tech stuff; we mostly use boards and books like we always have. The staff room is usually a mess of tea cups and half-corrected papers, which is just how it is when you’re busy. We know the local shops and the people who live around the junction. The kids come from all over Manacaud. We spend our time making sure the classes are on time and the students are behaving themselves. It’s a regular school day, every day. We don’t have any fancy mission statements to show off. We’re just here to do our jobs and help the kids get through their schooling years in one piece. It is a bit loud and busy, but that's just life in the city.
