Jawahar Central School

Down in Kanjiramkulam, things stay fairly busy once the school year kicks off. Jawahar Central School has been part of this neighborhood for a good while now, and you can see the students walking down the roads in Thiruvananthapuram every morning with their bags. It is a very regular sight for the people living nearby. We have got classrooms that have seen a lot of use over the years. The desks might have a few scratches from students sitting there year after year, and the chalkboards are always covered in dust by noon, but that is just part of a normal day here. Teachers are usually busy grading papers or trying to get the kids to sit still during those hotter afternoons when the fans are just humming away. It is not some high-tech place, just a school where people from around here send their children to get an education. We have the usual stuff like a playground that gets quite a bit of dust kicked up when the wind blows hard. During the breaks, the noise levels go way up, and you can hear the kids shouting all the way down the street. It is just a practical place for learning. We do not really go for anything flashy or over-the-top. Most of us living and working around here just want the kids to do their work and maybe learn something useful before they head home to their families in the evening.
