If you’re looking for us, you have to head down towards Pirayin Mood in Neyyattinkara. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city of Trivandrum, but that’s how we like it. The house is called Eanithottathu Veed, and it sits right in the middle of everything local. We deal with Somatheeram Health Resort, which most people know is over in Chowara, but this spot here is where the day-to-day stuff often happens. The pin code is 695121 if you’re sending anything by post. It’s a very Kerala kind of place, with plenty of green around and the air feeling heavy when the rain is about to start. We spend a lot of time just managing the logistics. People come and go, asking about the resort or looking for directions to Kovalam. The roads around here can be narrow, so you have to drive carefully, especially when the school buses are out. It’s not a polished hotel lobby here; it’s a working office in a real neighborhood. We have tea in the afternoons and talk about what needs doing for the guests. Some days are slow and others are a complete mess of phone calls and papers everywhere. It’s just how it goes when you’re running things. We’ve been part of this community for a long time now. You get to know the people at the local shops and the postman knows exactly where to leave the bundles. It’s just our way of working.
