Mascot Hotel

We are right at P.M.G. Junction, which is a pretty central spot in the city. The Mascot Hotel has been standing here for a long time, and you can see that in the architecture and the high ceilings. It’s a big place, and it takes a lot of us to keep it running. From the folks at the front gate to the kitchen staff, we’re all just trying to keep the tradition of the place going without making a big fuss about it. The junction outside is always humming with activity—buses, rickshaws, and people heading to the offices nearby. Inside, it’s a different world. We spend our shifts polishing the old wood, making sure the linens are crisp, and answering the phones. It’s a lot of work maintaining an older building like this, but we’ve got a rhythm down. We don’t use scripts when we talk to guests. We just say hello and help them find their way around. The history of the place is interesting, but to us, it’s just where we work every day. We eat our lunch together in the staff room and complain about the heat like everyone else in Trivandrum. It’s just a solid, dependable hotel run by regular people who care about doing a decent job. It gets busy during the festival season, but we just take it one day at a time. We've been through many seasons together.
