Manaltheeram Ayurveda Beach Village

We are located down in Chowara, which is a bit of a drive through Balaramapuram. If you are coming from the south of Kovalam, you’ll find us tucked away near the coast. Manaltheeram Ayurveda Beach Village is really just about the location and the work we do with people. The salt air gets into everything here. We spend a lot of time cleaning sand off the walkways and making sure the gardens don't get overgrown. It’s a lot of upkeep. The staff mostly comes from the nearby villages, so we all know each other. It’s not like those big resorts where no one knows your name. We have our own way of doing things. In the mornings, you can see the fishermen out on the water if you look past the trees. We do our Ayurveda sessions in the rooms we built specifically for that. It’s quiet, mostly. The sound of the ocean is always there in the background. Sometimes the monsoon rains get really heavy, and we have to huddle inside, but it’s still nice. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or big promises. We just provide a place for people to stay and get their treatments done. Most of us have lived in this Balaramapuram area our whole lives. We like the beach life, even if it means everything rusts a bit faster. It’s just a simple village vibe we’ve got going on here.
