Ktdc , Mascot Hotel

Our place is at Ushas, TC 23/219(1) in Valiyasala. This is right in Trivandrum, Kerala. We are part of the Mascot Hotel setup, which is run by KTDC. The building has a lot of history behind it. You can see it in the way the walls are built. It’s not like those new hotels that all look the same. We have high ceilings and heavy doors. Valiyasala is a busy part of town. There are always buses and autos going past. We have a lot of staff who have been here for decades. They know every corner of the building. We don't use much fancy language to talk about what we do. It’s a hotel. People stay here when they have business in the city. We make sure the beds are made and the floors are swept. Sometimes the kitchen is the loudest place in the building. We serve a lot of local food. People seem to like it. We aren't trying to be a five-star luxury place with gold taps. We just want to be a solid, dependable hotel for people visiting Kerala. The address is easy to find because most taxi drivers know Valiyasala well. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a busy life but we are used to it by now. We just take things one day at a time here.
