Thampanoor is a crowded place, and we are right in the middle of it all. Being part of KTDC means we follow the usual routines and rules. People come here because they need a place near the station or the bus stand. It’s convenient, mostly. The building has seen many years, and you can tell by looking at the walls. We do our best to keep it clean, though. Every morning, there is a rush of travelers coming in from early trains. They look tired and just want a room to sit down for a bit. We check them in, give them their keys, and point them toward the lift. The noise from the street never really stops, but after a while, you don't even hear it anymore. We have a few long-term staff who have been working here since they were young. They know every corner of this place. We don't put on any acts here. It’s just a straightforward hotel for people on the move. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a bulb goes out, and we fix it as soon as we can. It’s a busy life in Thampanoor. You see all sorts of people walking through the doors every single day. We keep the registers updated and make sure there’s enough water for everyone. It’s a simple operation, really. Nothing too complicated, just a place to sleep. We have been here for a long time and the neighborhood hasn't changed much. The tea shops outside still open at the same hour every single day.
