Hdfc Bank

Our branch of Hdfc Bank is over here in Parel House on Keerikuzhi Lane. It’s in the Thundathil P O area of Kariavattom, Trivandrum. It is not on one of those huge main roads with massive signs, but we like it that way because it feels more like a part of the community. Finding us for the first time might take a minute if you aren't familiar with the lane, but once you know where Parel House is, it’s easy. We see a lot of the same faces every day, mostly students from the nearby university or locals who have lived in Kariavattom for years. The office inside is functional. We have the usual counters and a few chairs for people waiting to talk about their accounts. It gets a bit busy in the mornings when everyone wants to get their banking done before lunch, but in the afternoons it quietens down. We don't use much fancy language here; we just explain things to people in a way that makes sense. Sometimes the printer jams or we run out of deposit slips, and we have to scramble to fix it while customers wait. It’s just the reality of running a bank branch in a busy residential area. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed despite the serious nature of handling money. It’s a local spot where we know most people by name, and that makes the work feel a bit more personal.
