Front Office Assistant

Working as the Front Office Assistant at Nirmala Bhavan in Konganam is a busy job. This place is located in the Puthukulangara area near Nedumangad, which is part of the larger Trivandrum district in Kerala. It is a typical office setting inside the Bhavan. Most of my time is spent sitting at the front desk and greeting whoever walks through the door. I handle the mail and take messages for the people working in the back. The building at Nirmala Bhavan has its own character and you get used to the sounds of the Konganam neighborhood after a while. It is a bit of a drive from the main city but it stays active throughout the day. I have my computer and a stack of ledgers that need filling out every single afternoon. Sometimes it gets a bit warm in here when the fans are not enough. We do not have any fancy lobby music or expensive art on the walls. It is just a practical space where we get the daily work done. People come in with questions about the office and I do my best to give them a straight answer. It is a simple life being the Front Office Assistant here. I just keep the desk organized and make sure the phone is always answered during the day and the papers are filed away correctly.
