Country Club

We are located over at Prasanth Bhavan in Maninadu. The local area is Kunnathukal, which is near Trivandrum in the state of Kerala. Country Club is what we call the place. It’s a spot where people come when they need to get away from things for a little bit. We have some open space here for folks to just sit and relax. It’s definitely not as fancy as those big clubs you see in the middle of the city, but it’s our place and we like it. We spend a lot of our time cleaning up the grounds and making sure the main building stays in good shape. The Kerala weather can be really tough on the wood and the paint if you don't keep up with it. We’ve got a small staff of people from the local village nearby. They help us out with whatever needs doing on a given day, from gardening to fixing the plumbing when it breaks. It’s a very local operation through and through. We don't have a big board of directors or a bunch of executives making rules. It’s just us trying our best to keep the place running for everyone. People from Trivandrum often come out here when they finally need a break from all the heavy traffic. It’s mostly quiet except for the birds and the occasional tractor passing by on the road. We keep things very simple here. We don't offer anything crazy or modern, just a place to be. We've been here a long time.
