Our office is tucked away in Chakkarayumma, over in the Pandakasala area of Chirayinkil. We are right here in the Thiruvananthapuram district, serving as a GSA for Saltours International. It’s a small place, mostly filled with the sound of phones ringing and the hum of the old air conditioner. We handle a lot of travel bookings, which means we are usually staring at flight schedules and computer screens for most of the day. Chirayinkil is a nice place to work, though it can get quite hot in the summer months. We have a few desks pushed together and stacks of folders everywhere. It isn’t the kind of place with a fancy lobby or marble floors. We are just a group of people who know how to navigate the travel systems. Most of our time is spent helping folks from the local area plan their trips abroad or book their tickets. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp. Sometimes the internet gets a bit slow, which makes things interesting, but we manage. We’ve been at this Pandakasala location for some time now, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a straightforward travel desk where we just focus on getting the details right for whoever walks through the door. No big corporate vibes here, just us working through the daily pile of emails and calls.
