We are based out of a house called Sivam in the Moongode area of Varkala. It’s a pretty quiet spot most of the time, except when the big trucks come through. Living and working here means you see the same faces every day. The post office is right there in Moongode, so we are always back and forth with parcels and papers. Our office isn’t anything fancy, just some sturdy tables and a lot of boxes stacked up against the walls. Sometimes the salt air from the coast makes things feel a bit damp, but that’s just how it is in Trivandrum. We handle a lot of shipments going out and coming in. You learn to recognize the regular drivers by the sound of their engines. The heat can be tough in the afternoon, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the house name on the gate. Most people find us because they know the neighborhood well or they’ve been told where to turn. It’s a family-run kind of feel here, even when we are dealing with cargo from far away. We drink a lot of coffee while waiting for the next delivery to show up. The yard has some coconut trees that give a bit of shade to the bikes parked outside. It’s just how we get things done here in our corner of Kerala.
