We are situated up on the second floor of Al Salam Plaza in Kamaleswaram. It’s right there in the Manacaud area of Thiruvananthapuram, not too far from the Government Higher Secondary School. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of a break from the street noise, though you can still hear the school bell ring and the kids shouting during their breaks. The climb up the stairs keeps us moving. Our space is pretty basic. We have some desks, a few computers, and plenty of files tucked away in cabinets. We mostly focus on travel and tour arrangements for people in the neighborhood. It’s a quiet place to work most of the time. We see a lot of familiar faces from Kamaleswaram coming in to ask about visas or flight prices. It’s not the kind of office where you’ll find fancy furniture. We just have what we need to do the job. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just part of living and working here. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background. It feels like a small community around here. We’ve got our routine down, and the day-to-day work keeps us busy enough. People appreciate that they can just walk in and talk to someone face-to-face. We’ve been in this building for some time and we’re quite used to the view from the second-floor windows.
