Down in Vellarada, things move a little slower than in the big cities. Aathi Institute Of Medical Sciences Private Limited is based out of Bhoomathy Bhavan, which is at 10/744. It’s right near the post office. We are a local bunch. Most of us live nearby and walk or ride a bike to get here. The building is a solid old place. It’s got high ceilings which helps with the heat. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just the basics we need to teach and organize medical science programs. There’s a lot of talking. We talk to students, we talk to their parents, and we talk to the people in the village. It feels more like a community spot than a big institute. We have a small yard where we sit sometimes during breaks. The paperwork is always piled up on the main desk. We try to keep it organized, but it’s a constant battle. Vellarada post is a landmark for everyone around here. If you ask anyone where Bhoomathy Bhavan is, they can point you the way. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or anything like that. We just do our jobs and try to help the students get their certificates and training done. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Most of our furniture is made of heavy wood that's been around for years and we prefer it that way.
