Started Varad Masale in our small space at B/7 in Krushi Sahakari Soc. It’s tucked away in Gholap Nagar here in Kalyan (W). It isn't a huge operation or anything fancy like you see in the city. We just deal with spices every day. Usually, it's just a couple of us working the grinders and making sure the bags are filled right. My hands usually smell like coriander or chili after a long day, which my wife complains about when I get home. The shop is small and sometimes gets a bit crowded when we have a big batch of turmeric coming in. We don't really have a big office or a marketing team. Most people around Kalyan just know us by word of mouth or they walk past and smell what we are grinding that morning. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the day fixing a belt or cleaning out the gears. It’s just how it goes when you’re running a small local place. We’ve been here for a good few years now and we just keep the same routine. People ask why we don’t expand, but this spot in Gholap Nagar is enough for us right now. It gets hot in the summer, especially with the machines running, but we have a small fan that helps a bit. We just want to keep things simple and keep the shop running as long as we can.
